Matthew Pepin graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Civil Engineering. After college he worked as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager at Lane Construction, a heavy highway/civil company. He has an extensive background in mineral extraction processes and aggregate quality control. Matthew eventually came back to his family’s business, R. Pepin and Sons, Inc., and started Newfield Sand with his brother Isaac. Matthew and Isaac purchased R. Pepin and Sons, Inc. in 2022, becoming the 4’th generation to own and operate the company. They also own Newfield Sand and are proud to carry on their family’s legacy in new ways.

Isaac Pepin graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Industrial Engineering. After college he worked as a QC Assistant at Old Castle Precast in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. After graduating Isaac came back to Maine to work in our Precast Division, Pepin Precast. He now runs Pepin Precast and owns R. Pepin and Sons, Inc. and Newfield Sand with this brother Matthew. Isaac has a lot of expertise when it comes to precast concrete structures, concrete/plastic drainage solutions, concrete retaining walls, underground utilities, and erosion control devices and methods. He is here to help you with al your unique project needs. 

David Cummings has played around the world as a professional golfer since 1989. In that time, he has played over 500 golf courses on 3 continents and has seen his fair share of bunker sand.

David competed on the European Challenge Tour from 1992-1993, the South American Tour from 1994-2002, and the New England Tour from 2002-2006. He has nine victories, including the 1994 Maine Open.

Not just a player, David has appreciated and studied golf course design and construction since before college, where he studied landscape architecture and drafting. From 2003 to 2008, he worked as an architectural consultant for Harris Golf, acting as a liaison between the company and architects such as Tom Doak, Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Arthur Hills, Steve Forrest, Ty Butler, and Brian Silva.

In 2008, David launched David Cummings Golf Design and Downeast Golf Design & Construction. His most recent projects include the renovation work at Falmouth CC to prepare for the PGA’s Korn Ferry Tour in 2021 & 2022 and a private estate course on Casco Bay. Theresa Salls graduated in 1988 from the College of St. Joesph in Rutland, Vermont. Her degree

is in business management with a minor in accounting. She has been the Office Manager and

Dispatcher for R. Pepins and Sons going on 26 years and during that time she has been involved

in the growth and development of the company.

Denise Carter graduated with an administrative degree.  She has over 35 years of experience in administration and customer service relations including running her own business in Northern Maine.  Denise has brought thorough experience to Newfield Sand and is here to always ensure timely and dependable deliveries.
